COTT at 20
It has been twenty years since COTT was organized to respond to the tragedy that befell our community. Come join us to celebrate these two decades of efforts to improve protection of the blood supply!
TO REGISTER, PLEASE CONTACT JEFFREY MOUALIM, COTT TREASURER, AT 805-688-3788 OR BY EMAIL AT JMOUALIM@AOL.COM.
The event begins with a Reception on Friday October 2nd at 5:00 at the Liaison Hotel, 415 New Jersey Avenue NW in Washington. A banquet Dinner will follow, with speakers including our Keynote Speaker Dr. Don Francis, formerly of CDC. Hemophilia films will be shown after the dinner.
The following morning Saturday October 3rd the Anniversary Celebration will be held, weather permitting, at 9:00 in the Upper Senate Park, only a little over a block from the hotel, on Capitol Hill. The Celebration will include a review of COTT’s history, reminiscences from members, and comments from government friends and others. (In case of inclement weather the Celebration will be held in the hotel.)
The remainder of Saturday will be a special working session for survivors and seniors in the community; held back in the hotel, and closed to the public for privacy’s sake. These sessions will concern living with hemophilia, and coping strategies for living with the three main conditions affecting our community.
Scholarships have been made available to assist seniors (those living with hemophilia for decades) and survivors (those with hemophilia and hepatitis c and/or HIV) to attend this event. For more information on this see the Hemophilia Federation of America’s website at http://hemophiliafed.org/programs-and-services/blood-brotherhood/ .
